After breakfast, we leave Bamboo and follow the trail that is almost covered with many tree roots. Our trail goes steeply down along the bank of rocks and then levels out. From there we continue our trek on the trail that winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Doban. From Doban the forest becomes more impressive with large rhododendrons covered in Spanish moss and pockets of orchids. In about an hour we will arrive at the Himalayan Hotel.
Leaving Himalaya Hotel, our trail climbs through dense forest to a large rock overhanging - known as Hinku Cave. Our trek continues as we follow the slightly rising trail towards Deurali. Soon the valley broadens and fine birch forest fills the far banks. Two obvious rock pillars mark the 'gateway' to the Sanctuary, which suddenly opens out to broad grassy slopes and a series of teahouses at Machhapuchre Base Camp. Many trekkers begin to feel the effects of altitude at MBC, so it is a good idea to initially rest and enjoy views of Machhapuchre, Gangapurna and Annapurna South.
After breakfast at MBC, we will follow the trail that climbs an ancient moraine covered by grass to the west of MBC. There are many trails that wind gradually up towards Annapurna South Base Camp. As we climb towards the base camp, we start to get a better perspective of the Sanctuary while enjoying the superb view of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiun Chuli, Machhapuchre and other surrounding snow-capped high peaks. Our Sherpa crew will do all the hard works from carrying and setting up camps at higher altitudes, provide healthy and hygienic meals, fixing and finding appropriate climbing routes to the summit. Fully acclimatized and properly equipped with all the climbing gears we will follow the guidance and footsteps of our experienced climbing experts. Tackling several technical climbing sections and taking weather conditions into consideration we head towards the summit of Annapurna South. Our tiring climb to the summit is rewarded with breathtaking views of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail), Hiun Chuli and other snow-capped high peaks. We will spend short quality time at the summit and descend following the same route back to the base camp.
After successfully achieving the summit of Annapurna South, we pack our gears and prepare for the return trek. Today we leave the base camp and retrace our steps on the same trail that descends through Machhapuchre Base Camp. We continue our trek as we leave the alpine vegetation and enter the sub-tropical vegetation dropping down through Deurali and then trek for some time to reach Himalayan Hotel for the overnight stay.
From Himalayan Hotel, our trek continues with a mixture of both uphill and downhill trekking that heads back towards Doban. Our trail from there goes through the dense forest passing through the few tea houses of Bamboo and then towards Sinuwa. From there we will descend steeply to cross a bridge over Chhomrung Khola. We cross the suspension bridge and start climbing a long stoned staircase to arrive at Chhomrung for our overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will leave Chhomrung and follow the trail that descends gradually passing through dense forest and along with rich natural resources. During our trek, we might spot Langur Monkeys and other species of rare wild animals and birds. Our trek continues until we arrive at Syauli Bazaar for our overnight stay. We will embrace the region's natural beauty while we are still here.

Many thanks to Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition team for arranging a successful expedition of Annapurna South. Everything was well organized by the team members. All the support from the crew members from carrying all the stuff to serving good and hygienic meals. Everything was just perfect. We must admit that there are several sections which are very challenging and need a high level of technical climbing knowledge. Our Sardar (guide) was Ang-Dendi Sherpa, honestly, e are very impressed with his decision-making ability and technical climbing knowledge. Without his guidance, there was no way we could reach the summit of Annapurna South. All the hard work and tiring climb were worth when standing on the summit !! Believe us !! Overall, teamwork was excellent, no complaints concerning staff managements and everyone in our group was feeling great after conquering the summit of Annapurna South, as an achievement of a lifetime. We strongly recommend Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition for those wanting to conquer the high mountains of Nepal.
Wishing Best of Luck !!!
