Overview
Kang Guru Expedition, a fascinating mountain which lies in the Western part of Nepal. It is also located between the massifs of Annapurna and Manaslu. Mt Kang Guru Expedition has recently been allowed for mountain climbers. Considered as one of the difficult and challenging peaks, the ridges of Mt Kang Guru are steep and very sharp. So as the first ascent of Mt. Kang Guru Expedition made by Japanese Expedition Team.
Apart from the adventure trip to Kang Guru Expedition, we will also have an opportunity to explore the less beaten and remote region of Nepal. We will also trek through many cultural and traditional villages, and along the world’s deepest gorge – Kali Gandaki Valley. Past climbing knowledge, great physical condition and a high level of responsibility are pivotal for the effective try of Mt Kang Guru.
Kang Guru Expedition Cost and Itinerary
Kang Guru Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks begins at Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing and making preparations for the expedition. We will also drive from Kathmandu passing through Besishahar to reach Chamje – the starting point of the trek. From Chamje, we will also start our trek by crossing a suspension bridge and then climbing towards the village of Tal – official entry to Manang District. Thus, Following the trail at the west bank of the river, we head towards Dharapani. Furthermore, with good views of the Annapurnas and sections of Lamjung Himal.
We will climb through dense pine and fir forest, rejoining the road for a long and easy descent to Koto. After registering at Koto village, we will make a gradual downhill descent for the crossing of a suspension bridge. And then follow the trail at the true left bank of Naar-Phu Khola gorge.
From this point, the trail becomes steeper. And we can hear the loud roars of rivers as the rapids crash with huge stones and deposits of the landslides. Likewise, We will also continue on an easy trek along the forest section before climbing to the stone huts of Singenge. From there, our trail heads towards Mount Kang Guru Base Camp. After arriving at the base camp, our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camp. And make necessary checks on climbing gears and our health conditions.
With the guidance and instructions of our experienced climbing expert. We head towards the summit of Mt. Kang Guru. Furthermore, After the thrilling and challenging climb of the Kang Guru mount summit. We also retrace our steps back to Kang Guru base camp. Having achieved our target summit, we follow the trail that passes through Koto and back to Syange. Our memorable and adventurous Kang Guru Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition ends with a drive from Syange back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary
Our representative from Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. Then, you will be transferred to a hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu City. Our staff will help you until the check-in procedure ends at Hotel. Either you can have a rest at the Hotel or visit NGT’s office for collecting information about the trip. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition Team.

We will spend our day sightseeing around some of the attractive world heritage sites within Kathmandu valley. Also, today we will complete all the necessary paper works and other preparations required for Kang Guru Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for day sightseeing.
Meals: BB Plan

After breakfast, we will take a drive from Kathmandu and head towards Chamje. At first, our drive goes along the Trishuli River, and then afterwards Marsyangdi River. Today’s drive is through scenic zig-zag hilly roads where you will get the opportunity to observe the activities of local people for their daily life survival. Before it was only possible to drive to Besisahar and start the trek but now due to the expansion of the motor road we will drive further to Chamje – the starting point of the trek.

From Chamje we start our trek by following the trail that passes through dense rhododendron filled forest and terraced farmlands as we enter Manang region. Our trek passes along the villages of Tal and Karte. Soon, our trail goes over the landslide affected area so we need to watch out for rock falls. Our trek continues until we arrive at Dharapani for our overnight stay.

After breakfast at Dharapani, our trek continues towards the village of Bagarchap. From there we make a steep ascend through a dense forest filled with fir and pine trees before arriving at Timang. We will have our lunch enjoying a splendid view of Lamjung Himal. After lunch, our trek continues on a flat trail and then descend before climbing again to reach Thanchok. From there, our trek is over a rather pleasant trail that descends down to Koto for our overnight stay.

There is a check-post at Koto where we must register before heading up to higher altitudes. After registration, we trail descends down to cross a suspension bridge over Naar Phu Khola and trek upstream to cross another suspension bridge over Seti Khola tributary. From there, our trail becomes steeper as the gorge closes in forming a canyon. We continue to trek with the thrilling experience of crossing a wooden bridge and then make a final uphill climb to reach the stone huts of Singenge.

From Singenge, we will follow the trail that is gradual uphill trekking all the way to a good campsite at 4,250 meters. Our trek heads along the harsh alpine vegetation, as we enter into higher altitudes with good views of high mountain valleys and surrounding peaks. After arriving at the campsite, our Sherpa crew will set up the Base Camp and then make necessary preparations for further climbing.

We will spend several days making climb preparations and climbing training. Our Sherpa team members will do all the hard works from setting up the camps at higher altitudes to serving hygienic and healthy meals. Fully equipped with all the necessary climbing gears and properly acclimatized, we will follow the instructions and guidance given by our experienced climbing experts and climb to reach the summit of Mount Kang Guru. After tackling several technical climbing sections we head towards the peak summit. Our tiring and much-waited climb to the summit of Mt Kang Guru is rewarded with magnificent views of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges including Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak and other snow-capped mountains. We will spend short but quality time at the summit and then descend following the same route back to Base Camp.

After achieving the experience of a lifetime by reaching the summit of Mt Kang Guru, we begin our return journey by retracing our steps and following the same trail that passes through the village of Singenge and then continues further to arrive at Koto for our overnight stay.

Today is the last day of our trek. From Koto we continue our descend journey passing through dense rhododendron filled forest. Our trek continues until we arrive at Syange for the overnight stay. In the evening, we will celebrate our successful completion of Kang Guru Expedition with the NGT team.

Today we will drive from Syange back to Kathmandu. The first part of our drive may not seem pleasant because of the bumpy roads but once we are on the highway – the zigzag hilly road offers beautiful riverside scenery on our way back to Kathmandu. After arriving at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. You can either have rest at the hotel or take an evening’s walk around the busy streets of Kathmandu.

You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. Also, the world heritage sites’ of UNESCO that weren’t possible on the second day of the trip can be visited on this day. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Besides, walking around the shopping streets of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will celebrate the successful completion of our Kang Guru Expedition and have a final meal together in the evening.

Mount Kang Guru is expedition class peak which is located in Annapurna and Manaslu region. It is the most difficult and challenging with a lot of steep rock with sharp edges. Kang Guru is less successful rate than other peaks because of unstable snowing and high risk of avalanche. You can see the stunning views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalayan range and know the people culture and its religion.

1. How difficult it is to get Nepal Visa?
On your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you can apply for Nepal visa which you will get in approximately 30 minutes.

5. Will the guide provided be experienced?
Our climbing guides are trained and certified by Nepal Mountaineering Association and Everest Summiteers Association who are born in Everest Region of Nepal and have bigger lungs as compared to of ours. It’s their culture and job due to which they will make the journey safe and successful.
6. How much weight a porter can carry?
Depending upon the steep hills, slopes and difficulties and high altitude of the trail one porter can carry 25 kilograms of weight. Usually, we provide one porter for one client. But, We will also provide porter according to the size of your group if needed.
7. Do I need to buy the climbing equipment or rent it or company will provide?
You don’t need to buy all the equipment as we will provide you with most of the equipment. You need to bring your personal equipment’s or you can buy or rent us from our company.
8. Do I need insurance for Kang Guru Expedition?
Yes, you need to get climbing insurance for Kang Guru Expedition which will also cover your trekking insurance. There are many different insurance companies you can choose one of the reliable company. You can find insurance companies by visiting here.
