When you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, our airport representative member will be on standby with a private vehicle to pick you up. He/she will restfully transfer you to your hotel and even assist you with your hotel check-in. Upon reaching the hotel, you can comfortably rest for some time. Afterward, you can participate in our concise pre-briefing session at our office.

You will have a sightseeing day at Kathmandu Valley before embarking on a Nirekha Peak Climbing journey. During this optional tour, we will take you around the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Valley, like historical Durbar Squares, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayabhunath, and Bouddhanath.

During your sightseeing visit, you can explore the unique culture and architecture of the Kathmandu Valley with the valuable information provided by our local city guide. Enjoy the excursion riding in the comfort of a private vehicle and soak into the historical, cultural, and architectural richness of this wonderful city.

Lukla Elevation: 2,800 meters/9,184 feet

Phakding Elevation: 2,640 meters/8,659 feet

The exhilarating journey of Nirekha Peak Climbing begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From your hotel, you will be transferred to the Kathmandu airport for this exciting domestic flight. After 35-40 minutes of flight, you will land at the gateway of the Everest region, Lukla. From Lukla, the trekking journey starts and heads towards scenic Phakding village.

The Lukla to Phakding trek allows you to immerse in the magic of incredible Khumbu landscapes. The wonderful trekking soon after the thrilling flight offers an enticing experience with an introduction to the beauty and grandeur of the Himalayas in each succeeding step.

To make it to the Phakding, you will traverse the forested trails and pass through the several small settlements of Sherpa. On the final tread, you will cross a suspension bridge over the Kusum Kanguru River, also known as Tharo Koshi. A downhill journey through captivating mountainous trails from Lukla takes you to this riverside Phakding village, where you will be spending your first night of trekking days.

Namche Bazaar Elevation: 3,440 meters/11,283 feet

The trekking journey from Phakding to Namche Bazaar allows you to take in the magical mountainous landscapes. Leaving Phakding, you will traverse alongside the Dudh Koshi Riverbed, soaking in the serene and gentle flow of the water. You will make several small ascents and descents to cross the same river over the popular Hillary Suspension Bridge again.

The trek further follows the trails of dense forests of pine and rhododendrons, leading towards the Sagarmatha National Park. You can witness the wide variety of plant and animal life while passing through this protected area with rich insights into the diverse regional ecosystem. Upon arriving at the vibrant Namche Bazaar, you can gaze upon the glorious vista of Mount Everest. You can rest on your pre-booked teahouse accommodation, soaking into the warm welcome and authentic hospitality of the local Sherpa people.

On this free day at Namche Bazaar, you can spend time relaxing, acclimatizing, and exploring the bustling Namche environment. This vibrant trekking hub has diverse places to explore, like Khunde Hospital and Sherpa Museum. You can take short acclimatization walks around these well-known places for discoveries and altitude adjustment.

You can interact with the indigenous Sherpas to learn about their costumes, traditions, unique lifestyle, and cultural richness. You can soak into the charming atmosphere and alluring scenery of Namche Bazaar until returning to the teahouse for a delicious dinner.

Dole Elevation: 4,040 meters/13,251 feet

After having a hearty breakfast at Namche Bazaar, our trekking journey continues towards Dole. On the way, you can witness the awe-inspiring views of snow-covered mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Khangtega, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many more.

You will traverse the historical monasteries with the sights and sounds of prayers and chants of the Buddhist monks. Several villages, like Mong-la Danda, PhortseThanga, etc, pass by while trekking along the scenic mountain trails. You will be walking along the distinctive paths encircled by the sky-scraping Himalayas, which gradually ascends to reach Dole.

Distance Covered: 6-7 kilometers

Gokyo Lake Elevation: 4,750meters/15,580 feet

Trek from Dole to Gokyo Lake starts by walking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. Next, you will pass through the picturesque Macchermo Village, which is north of Dole Village. Ngozumpa Glacier closes up while you move further on the trek with more rugged terrains of steep rocks. Eventually, you will navigate a glacial river, which encounters you with a row of enchanting lakes. Fd

Once you reach the glittering Gokyo Lakes, you can find stunning Cho Oyu mountain, towering in between the azure sky and this turquoise lake. You can explore the Himalayan grandeur that surrounds the sacred and serene Gokyo Lake and spend a magical night at a comfortable teahouse.

Gokyo Ri Elevation: 5,340 meters/17,515 feet

Dragnag Elevation: 4,650 meters/15,252 feet

Today, we will embark on an early morning hike to the Gokyo Ri. This vantage point offers the expansive panoramic vista of the incredible Himalayan giants like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Taboche, Cholatse, and several other neighboring mountains.

After enjoying a rewarding time at Gokyo Ri, prepare to descend down to Gokyo Lake. Cross the Ngozumpa Glacier once again to reach the mountainous village of Dragnag. Take a comfortable rest at the teahouse and enjoy a delicious dinner after an adventurous journey.

Nirekha Base Camp Elevation: 4,950 meters/16,236 feet

Cho La Pass Elevation: 5,420 meters/17,782 feet

Our trekking journey moves forward from Dragnag to Nirekha Peak Base Camp on this day. Our initial trek begins with a descent on steep mountainous trails. Next, you will follow the ascending routes that lead you to the challenging high mountain pass, Cho La.

Cho La is the highest point of our Nirekha Peak trekking journey, which is at an elevation of 5,420 meters. Follow a gradual and cautious ascent to the pass, enjoying the captivating views of nearby snow-capped mountains. Once you finish crossing the Cho La Pass, make a slight descent towards the Nirekha Peak Base Camp, immersing in the pristine wilderness of the Himalayan landscapes. On the base camp, spend a glorious night in a well-equipped tented camp.

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours

Distance Covered: 6-7 kilometers

Today, you will spend a day resting and exploring at the Nirekha Peak Base Camp. You can take this day to prepare for the onward adventure and acclimatization to the higher altitude environment.

You can relax amidst the magnificence of towering mountains and refuel for the next day’s journey. You can also practice with your climbing equipment, like ice axes, jumars, etc, after fully reviewing their conditions and functionality. Consider engaging in light physical exercises to keep your body active.

You can take short walks around the base camp to explore the splendor of Himalayan beauty. Soak into the anticipation and awe-inspiring scenery until you take a nice sleep to start fresh for the awaiting adventure.

High Camp Elevation: 5,300 meters/17,384 feet

After spending a day acclimatizing and exploring at the Nirekha Base Camp, we ascend towards the high camp of this peak. Today’s journey is only for a short period of time, and during the remaining period, you can acclimatize and prepare for the climbing adventure of Nirekha Peak.

The ascending trail to high camp leads us through the narrow passes of steep rocky slopes. Continuing further, you will reach a flat surface just beneath the glaciated moraine, where we set up our tented campsite. From the high camp, we begin our Nirekha Peak climbing adventure the following day.

Duration: 3-4 hours

Nirekha Peak Elevation: 6,169 meters/20,234 feet

On day 12, we will be climbing and conquering the Nirekha Peak. We will begin the climb early in the morning. The climb is technical and takes a day-long time to reach the summit and descend down to the base camp. So, we have to move early, which also avoids the possibility of adverse weather conditions after midday.

The summit push of Nirekha Peak involves navigating the technicalities like glaciers with crevasses, steep ice and snow sections, narrow passes, etc. With climbing equipment like ice axes, crampons, ascender/descender, fixed ropes, etc., we pass through the challenging routes and make it to the top of this newfound peak. From the summit of Nirekha Peak, you can marvel at the spectacular 360-degree panorama of eight thousander Himalayas, Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu, and several 6,000 meters class peaks like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, etc.

Spend some time celebrating the successful achievement of the Nirekha Peak pinnacle and begin descending down to the base camp. Enjoy the mountainous terrain from a different perspective while retracing your footsteps all the way from the top to the Nirekha Base Camp.

Machhermo Elevation: 4,410 meters/13,578 feet

Nirekha Base Camp to Macchermo trek offers a picturesque journey through the core of the Khumbu region. The trekking journey begins to descend, following the trails northwards. You will pass through the alpine meadows and traverse the forested trail of rhododendrons and pine.

Trekking further, you will encounter the rugged and rocky terrains, where you have to make several short ascends and descends. Slowly, make your ascent to Macchermo for warm meals at cozy teahouse accommodations. Overall, the landscape from base camp to Macchermo is characterized by glaciated rivers, alpine greenery, and intermittent yak-grazing pasturelands.

Trek Duration: 5-6 kilometers

Distance Covered: 3-5 hours

Macchermo to Namche Bazaar part of the trek allows you to marvel at the stunning views of the Himalayas in between the journey. It also allows you to explore the local Sherpa culture and their typical lifestyle while passing through the small settlements along the way.

The trek begins from a small mountainside village, Macchermo, and gradually descends, passing through the yak pastures, rhododendron forests, and Sherpa villages. Take in the diverse scenery along the way, from rocky paths to forested trails with some sections of steep ascents and descents to reach the Sherpa town, Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is a famous stopover in the Everest region trekking, where you can find several traditional to well-established teahouses that offer comfortable lodging and delicious foods for trekkers.

Distance Covered: 12-14 kilometers

The trekking journey from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is a captivating descent along the Everest region trails. From the relatively high altitude of Namche Bazaar, follow a downhill route by crossing the Dudh Koshi River. After a swaying walk over the suspension bridge, descend steadily through the charming small settlements of Sherpa.

Next, navigate the forested trails of vibrant rhododendrons and pine trees with a periodic glimpse of the magnificent Himalayas. Once you arrive at Lukla, the exhilarating journey of Nirekha Peak Climbing comes to an end. Take a cozy nap in a teahouse accommodation and wake up early to catch a flight back to Kathmandu.

Today, you will be enjoying a return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. A thrilling take-off from the Lukla Airport allows you to witness the aerial wonders, including mountains, hills, and valleys, beneath the clouds. Upon reaching Kathmandu after a short scenic flight, you will be transferred back to your hotel by one of our members.

At the hotel, you can relax and do whatever you like for the rest of the day. You can spend the evening immersing in the delicacy of traditional Nepali dishes.

On this leisurely day in Kathmandu, you can grab the opportunity to visit the remaining historical and cultural sites of the city that were not covered during the sightseeing day. Apart from the traditional and religious sites, you can also explore the natural beauty of the Valley by visiting its nearby forests, waterfalls, and parks.

It will be a fulfilling experience to stroll around the busy streets and narrow alleys around the Thamel and Asan. You can taste some street foods from roadside vendors for the authenticity of local flavors. You can even purchase some good souvenirs from one of the cultural sites or local stalls for a cheerful memory of your journey in Nepal.
