Overview
“It is not the mountains we conquer, but ourselves,” Sir Edmund Hillary, the Everest trailblazer, rightly quoted this.
Pachermo Peak Climbing is one adventurous expedition that helps us conquer ourselves. Perched in the Rolwaling region of Nepal, Pachermo Peak(6,273m) is one of the ultimate peaks in Nepal for mountain aspirants. It is a great climb for beginners who wants to achieve new extremes. The mountain is different from all other trekking peaks in Nepal regarding technicality.
First climbed by Dennis Davis and Phil Boultbee in 1955, the peak rewards an amazing trekking and mountaineering experience. The journey begins from the scenic Jiri village and continues on an off-the-beaten Rolwaling valley.
Following and crossing the popular Tashi Lapcha Pass(5,750m), you take on the exciting climb of Mt Pachermo. After the climb, you will descend gradually downwards and enter the Everest Region to tick Namche Bazaar, Phakding, and Lukla, before flying to Kathmandu.
In this amazing expedition, you will explore the virgin parts of the valley. You will pass many quaint villages of Sherpas, vast valleys, roaring rivers, lush greenery, long waterfalls, iced glaciers, and whatnot.
You will feed your heart with numerous amazing natural and cultural experiences in this part of Nepal where Pachermo houses. Not just the Rolwaling region, you will undergo the famous Everest Region and Namche Bazaar.
Above all, you’ll summit the top of Pachermo Peak and live an incredible sensation. The journey is not straightforward. You’ll conquer the peak and more yourself using the gathered expertise, experience, power, and prowess.
Traversing all the easy and difficult roads, you will kiss the apex; the rest is magic. The pinnacle, located at 6,187m, offers views of Mt Everest, Nuptse, Makalu, Gauri Shankar, Thamserku, Kusumn Kanguru, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, and more. You will have the widest chest on the top, watching the great panorama and realizing the achievement.

Pachermo Peak Climbing is strictly not for inexperienced climbers. Although it is a trekking peak, you must have fine high-altitude experience, essential mountaineering training, and a good physique. The experienced team of guides will take you to the top. Spring(March-May) and Autumn(September-November) are the best times for Pachermo Peak Climbing.
The breezy and exhilarating pinnacle of Mt Pachermo is awaiting you! Don’t be late!

The next day, we will remain busy around Kathmandu’s cultural and historical streets. Before leaving for Pachermo, we will explore the beautiful city of Kathmandu, dotted with world heritage sites.
Likes of Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Monkey Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square will be our to-visit places. These sites spark remarkable history, culture, and architecture. We will embrace several of these. Conjointly, our team and we will also do paper & permit works and gear arrangements. In this way, we will finish the second day of the itinerary.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for day sightseeing.

Drive Duration: 7-8 hours
We will finally be off to Pachermo Peak by driving to Gongar Khola. It will start after breakfast in the morning. We will begin viewing rivers, hills, forests, and villages as we leave Kathmandu’s concrete jungle.
It will be an exciting drive via peaceful, beautiful Jiri and Charikot towns. We will be on the winding road on the sides of the Sunkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers. After 6-7 hours of the drive, we will reach Gongar Khola for the night. We will stay in a lodge.
Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
The walk is on, after all. We will start with good morning energy from Gongar Khola, a riverside stop. The walk will follow the western banks of the reverberating Bhotekoshi River.
Listening to the sound, we will propel ahead. It is a short trekking day. However, we will receive the amazing sights of Gauri Shankar and the peaks. In a short duration, we will pass waterfalls, terraced fields, and traditional villages and reach Simigaun, our destination for the day. The warm and welcoming Sherpa people will await us to host the night.
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
After a lovely night in Simigaun, we have to sail towards Dovan. We will commence with a sharp uphill via a peaceful rhododendron forest and others. The ascent will complete upon reaching Shakpa(2,460m). We will catch our breaths for a while and then start a gentle climb to Sambur Danda.
Next, we will do a demanding walk to cross Daldung La Pass at 3,976m. We will have a deserving pause and encapsulating view jointly. The walk is not off. We will descend gradually to the Rolwaling River and enter Rolwaling Valley. With the help of a wooden bridge, we will finally cross the river and walk ahead to find Dobhan. It is a converging site of two rivers, hence named Dovan. We will stay here only in a teahouse.
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
We must bid Beding goodbye and proceed ahead in the dawn. The breakfast will help us climb the gentle uphill as we begin. We will move across several Sherpa hamlets after the uphill. We will also capture the unreal Gaurishankar Himal with our eyes.
Likewise, some small waterfalls will also make the trek more happening. After the steep walk, we will have an easy flat walk to Beding, the biggest hamlet in the valley, right next to the Rolwaling River. We will spend a lovely evening in the village exploring and conversing.
Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
Now, we have to drop Beding back and move toward Na Village. We will do so by joining the north side of the Rolwaling River. Like the other days, we will lure ahead by listening to the river’s music. It is one of the easiest days of Pachermo Peak Climbing. So, we slowly proceed by enjoying everything nicely, from snowy mountain views to wide valleys. In such a way, we will reach Na Village(Gaon), a temporary village, to spend the night.
We must acclimatize now, for which we will stay in Na Gaon(village), the perfect place for the rest. Without a rush, like on previous mornings, we will wake up freely and have breakfast. We will plan a hike while eating as there are several good destinations.
We can hike to Yalung La Pass(5,310m) for a grand mountain panorama and glacier view. Gaurishankar Himal, Yalung Glacier, and Ramdung Glacier are the major highlights. Or we can stay in the village only and explore the various monasteries of the place and nearby sites. Understanding the situation, we will decide our activities for the day.
Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
Following the morning meal, we will start a compelling walk to Tsho Rolpa Lake, one of the biggest glacial lakes in Nepal. We will cross one river and go along the river to the south. While trekking ahead, we will pass via ice-scattered terminal moraines and rough terrain. It is a short day we could avoid if we do not take the last acclimatization day in Na Village. But we must be careful in the mountains. Thus, we will trek gradually with proper acclimatization.
After some hours of walking, we will find Tsho Rolpa Lake. We will enjoy the incredible views of the lake and peaks until dark by exploring the site. We will spend the night in a tented camp as no villages and teahouses are here.
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
Now, we will leave Tsho Rolpa Lake behind and approach Drolambu Glacier. It is better to start as early as possible. Otherwise, the bright sun can warm the glaciers and melt snow. Later the place also turns a bit windy as well. The quicker we start, the easier the trek will be.
Today’s trek will mostly be about crossing glaciers. One after another, we will trek on a glacial path overlooking amazing snowy sights. We will walk towards the eastern side of the glacier and descend to the southern end of Trakarding Glacier. Afterward, we will make an uphill walk to Drolambu Glacier. We will spend the night in a tented camp.
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
It is an important day of Pachermo Peak Climbing as we cross the famous Tashi Lapcha Pass, a major mountain pass in Nepal. Like the last day, we will start our walk early after breakfast. We will head up on the upgoing way and reach the pass.
The pass, Tashi Lapcha, is a rough, adventurous, but scenic ridge. We can enjoy a captivating mountain display from the place. After enjoying the view, we will descend from the pass for some minutes and reach the Tashi Cape. Our team will set up a camp where we will rest at night.
Today, we will slow things down in Tashi Cape by taking an acclimatization day. It is an important day we will prepare for Parchamo Peak climbing. Alongside altitude conditioning, we will pull out our climbing gears and practice climbing on the alpine terrain. Our guide will help us with it. The preparation will boost our confidence for the upcoming summit push. We will make the most of the day and sleep early to wake up early.
Trek Duration: 9-10 hours
The ultimate day of Pachermo Peak Climbing is here. We will begin so early to reach the summit before noon. To begin, we will follow the steep snowy section. It will take us to the rock’s northern side and Tengi Ragi Tau’s walls.
Following the instructions and footsteps, we will ascend gradually and touch Parchamo Peak’s apex (6,187m). The summit offers magnificent views of Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru, Ama Dablam, and others. We will celebrate the success with the view. Then, we will sign off from the top and descend slowly. We will come down to Ngole for a deserving night. We will sleep with great fulfillment in a tented camp the night.

Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
Following a restful sleep, we will begin a normal trekking day. The walk is quite easy as it drops. We will descend at a good speed up to Thyangbo Kharka, a yak pasture. As it is a relaxing day, we can spend enough time enjoying the great mountains. Makalu, Ama Dablam, and other peaks appear during the day. We will reach the yak pasture, where we will stay in a teahouse finally after regular camping days. It will feel quite good.
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we will leave the yak pasture, Thyangbo Kharka. We will have a good time on the trail. Enjoying the walk, we will reach Thame village. After the village, we will trek along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. The walk will see us gradually dropping down to Punki Tenga.
Remember, we are already in the Everest Region. Immersing in the scenic vicinity of the region, we will pass an old trade route and several ups and downs. At last, we will reach Namche Bazaar, the famous Everest Base Camp Trek town. It will be a fine evening in Namche Bazaar. The town is so vibrant. After many days, we will stay in a good teahouse and be comfortable.
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
Namche Bazaar will host us nicely the last night. In the morning, we have to leave for Lukla after breakfast. The walk will progress on the Everest Base Camp trail.
Alongside, our trek is via the lush Sagarmatha National Park. We will enjoy the walk there and on several suspension bridges. Moreover, we will also stroll along the Dudh Koshi River, doing easy ups and downs. In this way, we will reach Lukla, the ending point of the trek.
Flight Duration: 45 minutes
We will take a morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. It will be a 45 minutes scenic flight, the best way to finish Pachermo Peak Climbing. Enjoying great mountain views, we will land safely at Kathmandu airport. The next destination will be our hotel, where we will relax our bodies.

We will have a free day planned to explore the remaining sites of Kathmandu. The world heritage sites like Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square would be our main priority. Besides sightseeing, we will be shopping for homes at the local market. Without heavy backpacks, we will roam around the busy alleys of Kathmandu. It will conclude with a farewell dinner with the team. We will share experiences.

As it is time to depart, our team will drop you off at the airport departure at the flight time. You will asa warm farewell! Bon Voyage! Safe Flight!

Important
Pachermo Peak is a demanding trekking peak that requires training, experience, and climbing skills. You must come well-prepared to climb this one. On this expedition, trek via a rugged, steep, glacial, snowy path and crevasses. You must use gears like ropes, crampons, ice axes, ascenders, etc. It is going to take a lot of work.
The journey to Pachermo Peak is a long one. We must trek via the Rolwaling Valley and cross several lakes and mountain passes to find the top. In the process, we will do all kinds of adventurous trekking. Ups, downs, roughs, snowy trails will come. It will not be a walk in the park in any way. We must put some work on the road.
Likewise, altitude sickness is another major threat. As Pachermo Peak climbing rises to 6,274m, you must be alert while trekking and climbing in the higher areas. Only with good experience and preparation can we deal such an altitude. Hence, we have to do good homework before the Pachermo expedition. Including physical preparation, we should also build mountaineering prowesses to pass the tests of the expedition.
Overall, Pachermo Peak is a strenuous climb requiring good preparation and planning. We should opt for this peak after gaining proper training and preparation. It is not for you if you are a beginner who lacks the history of doing a high-altitude trek or climb.

Spring is the most suitable time for the Pachermo Peak expedition. The season, March-May, is a dream time for mountaineers arriving in Nepal. Climbers experience great stable weather conditions. It stays afloat. The season’s highlights are clear mountains, visible days, and warm temperatures. You will have a great experience.
Likewise, Autumn is another amazing time for the climb. September to November is the Autumn season in Nepal. Much like in Spring, the weather around Pachermo and the Himalayas is stable and amusing. The snowfall and rainfall are meager possibilities. Instead, we can have great views and pleasant temperatures. You can have a remarkable expedition to Pachermo Peak. The weather will be on your side.
Conversely, climbing the peak in Winter and Monsoon is not that suitable. These two are low times for climbing in Nepal. The seasons are less favorable than the other two. You must face challenges like snowfall, rainfall, and other climate upsets. The expedition can become quite tricky at times. Hence, we do not recommend these two seasons even though it is possible.
Overall, Autumn and Spring would be great times for Pachermo Peak Climbing. The expedition goes quite well with the good weather conditions.
Pachermo Peak is a trekking peak that is a bit technical. So, you must have good fitness, trekking or climbing history, and training. If you already have climbing experience, it is better.
The expedition involves demanding trekking in high altitudes. Similarly, you must climb, cross glaciers, steep uphills, and rough sections. The last section is also minorly technical. Thus, you must be ready to overcome these challenges at least.
To be so, you should build good cardio and upgrade your strength. The preparation can be like day hiking and hill climbing with a 15 kg backpack. Or doing cardio exercises like swimming, jogging, and cycling daily for several months. Similarly, you can do a strength training routine like sit-ups, pull-ups, etc., in a gym or at home. If you are a beginner, do some high-altitude treks before this expedition.
In the case of training, you must have basic mountaineering training. The training provides you nitty gritty of climbing, like using ropes, ascenders, and crampons. Pachermo Peak is merely technical, so you will need good skills to face the challenges.
