Tharpu Chuli, or the Tent Peak, is an excellent trekking peak in the magical landscapes of the region. The beautiful peak-climbing adventure takes you through the incredible landscapes before arriving at the base camp. The majestic peak of Tharpu Chuli provides you with a scenic vista of the entire Annapurna range of snow-clad mountains.

The height of Tharpu peak is ideal for those climbers who want to start their mountaineering journey. It is also a great practice ground for much more significant 8000m climbs like Mt Everest. The mountain is also known as Tent Peak due to its shape, which resembles a large tent. Tharpu Chuli, or Tent Peak, is a beautiful trekking peak located at 5695 m.

Tent peak expedition requires a long-distance trekking journey passing through diverse natural trails. The trek trails pass through terraced farmed hills, green hills, meadows, rivers, and lakes. The Tent peak is just 40 km from Pokhara but requires at least 10 days to reach the summit.

The trek trails will pass through the protected part of the Annapurna Conservation Area. The forested trails along the route are home to numerous wildlife species. You can observe Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Singu Chuli, Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna II-IV, and others along the route.

The ascending of the mountain is through the standard Northwest ridge. It is the most common and traditionally accessible route of Tharpu Chuli. The best time for climbing Tent Peak is the Autumn and Spring season. These seasons have stable weather and temperature, making them ideal for adventure.

However, there are other seasons when you can go on the best adventure of Tharpu Chuli Peak climbing. Extra training, preparation, gear, and equipment are necessary for this journey. The Tent Peak 5663 m (18580 ft) is a perfect ground to get some experience for high altitude 8000m climbs.

The Japanese expedition team, led by Dr. Haruo Higuchi, was the first to arrive at the summit in 1964. Before that, many unsuccessful attempts were also made to climb the mountain in 1956 and 1957. The ascent was through the southeast Ridge, Alpine Grade AD. In 1965, a German team led by Gunter Hauser climbed through the northwest Ridge, Alpine Grade PD.
