Important
Yalung Ri
It is a moderately challenging peak for trekkers. The Yalung Ri has been rated Alpine PD (Peu Difficile, meaning a little difficult). It does not involve highly technical climbing. Yet it is challenging because of its high altitude, glacier travel and of course the physical fitness it demands. It is not recommended for beginners.
You need knowledge of using crampons and ice axes to navigate the icy terrain and to avoid crevasses. The final ascent to this peak involves a 40-degree snow slope, a challenging feat. It is not technically demanding, yet you must be physically fit and possess good mountaineering skills.
Pachermo Peak
It is a challenging trekking peak. Therefore, the trekkers must have good mountaineering experience, technical skills, and be in a good shape. Because of its difficulty level, the climb to this peak is strenuous, thus you must have experience of high-altitude trek or climb.
The route to the Pachermo Peak comprises steep and icy sections. You will also find crevasses along the rugged trails. It means the use of ropes, crampons, and ice axes is a must while summiting this peak. You will also need to use ascenders.
You will begin your journey in the remote Rolwaling Valley, ascending to high passes, glaciers, and wild terrain before reaching the summit.
The elevation of the peak makes you prone to altitude sickness too. A proper acclimatization is thus a must before setting off to the peak.
To sum up, the trek to this Peak is not recommended for beginners with no mountaineering training or technical climbing background.
Altitude Sickness
Altitude sickness generally occurs above 2,500 meters. So, Yalung Ri (5,800 m) with Pachermo Peak (6,187m) climbing can pose a risk of altitude sickness in trekkers. Some of the symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, fatigue and dizziness. If ignored, it can cause more serious conditions like swelling of the brain leading to confusion, loss of coordination and seizures. One might face a life-threatening situation when one suffers from shortness of breath and coughing.
The only solution to avoid altitude sickness is acclimatization. It lets the body adjust to the increasing altitude which has a low oxygen level and thin air.
Proper acclimatization and gradual ascent are recommended. Do not forget to drink plenty of water and fluids to stay hydrated. Most importantly, follow the instructions of your guides.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons of the year to trek to Yalung Ri and Pachermo Peak. The March-May (spring) and September-November (autumn) months have the best weather conditions in Nepal for trekking.
This applies to these two destinations too. The weather is pleasant with stable temperatures, skies are clear, and temperature are favourable for you to go on a memorable trek.
It is better to avoid trekking in the winter season. Monsoons are also not recommended. The temperatures drop significantly in winter, along with snowfall and winds. Monsoons pose the risk of heavy rainfalls followed by landslides and slippery trails. Thus, these two seasons are not regarded as ideal for Yalung Ri with Pachermo Peak climbing.
The two peaks have different levels of difficulty. So, if you were to make individual treks to Yalung Ri or Pachermo Peak, the experience, training and fitness required would be specific to your destination.
But as this trip combines treks to two peaks in one, you must aim for the highest level of fitness, training, and experience as demanded by the trek. That means, you must be fit enough to summit Pachermo Peak to be able to complete Yalung Ri and Pachermo Peak Climbing.
Yet, here is a comparison of the experience, training, and fitness level required between the two treks.
Identify your level, and if you feel you are not fit enough, get yourself ready before you head to this trek.

Posted on trystan19632025-10-21Verified Mera Peak Trek Nepal Guide Treks offered a first-class experience. I arrived shortly after the democracy protests and there was still a lot of confusion. All the other trekkers had cancelled and there were no internal flights. Prakash Devkota didn’t let this impact my expedition and organised overland travel and I am sure ran the whole trip just for me at a financial loss. The weather was awful until we reached 4500m then blue skies and stunning landscape. Had a brilliant time being the first and only person on the Mera Peak Summit. I am 60+ and had done lots of training but found the whole trip much easier than the pre trek preparations. Can’t wait to return to Nepal.Posted on Krassi D2025-09-10Verified Good service and solution-oriented. This was my second trekking in Nepal alone but the first time with firm to Mr. Prakash. I got good and detailed information ahead of the trip and had a meeting with him the day before the draw started where he gave me detailed information about the trip. The company is reliable, honest and solution-oriented. My guide was experienced and concerned with my safety all the way. I felt well taken care of throughout the trip. Mr. Prakash stretched far to accommodate my strange wishes. This made the trip a great experience. Will use them for more trips in Nepal in the future.Posted on mesie_w2025-07-07Verified Super good organised hike Langtang to Yala-Peak Hiking the Langtang valley was wonderfull!! final summit of Yala was realy superrrrrr COOL.Thanks everyone at peakclimbingnepal!Posted on Federico D2025-05-10Verified Amazing experience around the Manaslu We had a great experience with our guide Pradip and his brother Min. The entire trip was very well organized and we had the chance to enjoy the Manaslu Trek at its best. We had transportation with the jeep both at the start and the end of the trip. The views are amazing and totally something to recommend to anyone who loves mountains. We had a good acclimatization and had no problems in the end with the altitude. The Larke pass at the end was incredible and totally worth It. Do this trip if you can!Posted on KT T2025-05-01Verified Pisang Peak I had a wonderful time with Ngawang Sherpa who was my trekking/climbing guide.
