Brief Overview of Dhampus Peak Climbing in Nepal

Dhampus Peak Climbing is also known as ‘Thapa Peak Climbing’. It lies between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain massif. The Dhampus peak rises to the north-east side of the great Dhaulagiri Himalayan Range and the north-west from the beautiful Pokhara city. Dhampus Peak Mountaineering is suitable for climbers seeking to gain an adventurous trek. The less beaten trail of Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek combined with Dhampus Peak Climbing adventure is easy and less technical than other peaks. So beginners and climbers with a low level of peak climbing experience can climb this peak. During the trip, we cross two adventurous snow-covered passes: French Pass at 5360 meters & Dhampus Pass at 5200 meters.

Dhampus Peak is an easy mountain to a summit in case of technicalities. We follow an attractive natural path for the trekking trail. March-May and September – November is the best season for climbing the peak although the peak is open for all seasons. We can witness thirty different peaks form the summit of the Dhampus which makes our journey worthwhile and worth remembering.

Apart from natural beauty, we will get to experience different cultures and traditions during the journey which is simply wonderful. Dhampus Peak is perfect for beginners who are wanting to get hands-on experience for their fist ever mountain climbing. No technical skills are required for summiting this peak, if you have any experience of trekking in snow will be an added skill. Although no skills are needed, you need to be physically and mentally fit to overcome the challenges during peak climbing. Dhampus peak tour is one of the most demanded peaks for climbing.

Dhampus Peak Climbing Cost and Itinerary

Dhampus Peak Climbing starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we take another drive to reach Beni – the starting point of our trek. We will begin our trek following the trail that goes along the remote and less developed part of Nepal. We will also pass through several cultural villages, beautiful valleys and mountain glaciers. The key point is that it has an excellent view of Annapurna I, II, III, IV. Annapurna South, Nilgiri Peak, Tilicho Peak, and many other snow-covered peaks which are the main attraction in this region. Climbers need to be well equipped with all the necessary climbing gear and equipment. We will also follow the guidance of our experienced Sherpa guide as we head towards the Dhampus Peak summit.

Our climb to the summit rewards us with sensational views of Annapurna I, II, III, IV. Nilgiri Peak, Tilicho Peak, and many other snow-capped mountains. We will spend a short time at the summit and then descend following the same route back to base camp. Leaving our base camp leads to the crossing of another challenging high alpine pass – Dhampus Pass at 5200 meters. From the top of the pass, we descend through Yak Kharka to arrive at Jomsom. Our memorable climbing adventure ends with a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and a drive back to Kathmandu.

Great Climbing Experience @ Dhampus Peak ‘ Härligt Känsla ‘

We booked our Dhampus Peak Climbing trip with Nepal Guide Treks and Expeditions. At first, we were not sure if we made the right decision. But now after successfully summiting Dhampus Peak, we can assure everyone that Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition is a serious company. Everything prior and after the trip was taken well cares of.

We are very happy that we did the trip with NGT. Our guide was Ang-Dawa Sherpa, a very wise and talented person who knew exactly how to climb in technical sections.

We would surely want to do more climbing with him as our guide in future. The team and the Sherpa crew were very humble and helpful. We will recommend your service to our friends and family when we get back home.

And Seriously, we will be back to do more adventurous climbing with NGT in future.
