Pachermo Peak Climbing Cost and Itinerary

Pachermo Peak Expedition begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu towards Gongar Khola. From there, we start our climbing trek and it passes through the dense forest filled with rhododendron, oaks and pines trees towards the traditional village of Na. We take a day’s rest for acclimatization before heading further into higher altitudes. From our trailheads for the crossing of the challenging Tashi Lapcha Pass at 5755m to reach Tashi Cape where we get acclimatized and well prepared and head off for climbing the summit of Pachermo Peak. It follows the footsteps and guidance of experienced climbing experts recommended by Nepal Guide Treks.

The first thing to remember is to Pachermo peak Summit includes several technical sections. They are snow slopes with crevasses and small seracs, that makes the peak climbing tasks more complicated. We will overcome the technical sections and head towards the summit of Pachermo Peak. Once at the top, we are also rewarded with panoramic views that include Amadablam Expedition, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru, Cho Oyu and other surrounding mountains.

After achieving the Pachermo Peak Climbing Summit, we steep descent and a pleasant walk all the way down to Lukla passing through Namche Bazaar – the Sherpa Capital. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.

30 min Drive Hotel/Resort

Our airport arrival and departure representative will be at Tribhuwan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will be transferred to the hotel and our staff will help you until check-in procedure ends at Hotel. Either you can have rest at Hotel or visit NGT’s office. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition Team.

Day 02: Sightseeing at Kathmandu

We will spend our day sightseeing around some of the attractive world heritage sites within Kathmandu valley. Also, today we will complete all the necessary paper works and other preparations required for Parchamo Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.

Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for day sightseeing.

Day 03: Drive to Gongar Khola [1,350m/4428ft] via Jiri Charikot

7-8 hrs Drive Lodge

After breakfast, be prepared for the driving trip towards Gongar Khola from Kathmandu. We take a full day jeep drive. The first couple of hours we follow the smooth road of Araniko Highway, following the drive of Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi River bank side. En-route we enjoy the scenery from several hilly regions of Nepal. Drive through the adventurous zigzag and the rugged road takes us to reach at Gangor Khola for first overnight stay.

Day 04: Trek to Simigaun [2,000m/6560ft]

4-5 hrs Trek Lodge

Today, we start our first day of trekking (pre-climbing) journey following the west bank of Bhotekoshi River. Impressive views of Mt. Gauri Shankar, beautiful waterfalls, passing through the agricultural farmlands, charming villages make our day worth full until reach at Simigaun. On the way, we observe and explore Sherpa culture and other mixed cultural villages, frequently encounter and interaction with honest and hospitable natives.

Day 05: Trek to Dovan [2,850m/9348ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge

Today, we begin our journey with steeply climbing through beautiful rhododendron forest until reach to Shakpa at 2460 meters. After Shakpa, we again gradually ascend towards a ridge of Sambur Danda. Then cross the adventurous pass Daldung La Pass at 3976 meters and descend down to Rolwaling valley. Again we follow a path to long diagonal descends to Rolwaling river. After crossing a wooden made small bridge, we continue heading to east through narrow shaded Rolwaling Valley to reach Dobhan. The Nepali word Dovan means a place of a junction where two or more rivers junctions each other.

Day 06: Trek to Beding [3,690m/12103ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge

Today, after taking breakfast we start our journey to Beding, firstly we begin through gentle uphill trails. The trail passes through the numerous numbers of Sherpa settlements, explore Sherpa villages made from stone walls and wood/stone roofs. Beding is the largest village settlement in the Rolwaling region of Nepal, located in a narrow George sandwiched from the beautiful landscape. At evening, we can explore the villages, Buddhist monasteries and gompas as well as hike to Manlung La – A splendid viewpoint.

Day 07: Trek to Na Village [4,180m/13710ft]

3-4 hrs Trek Lodge

Today, we follow the trail north side of the river, a short day walks to reach another charming village settlement of Na. As we gradually gain the altitudes, an impressive close-up view of mountains starts to appear. Na village is not a permanent village, in a summertime animal are grazed and potatoes are grown over there.

Day 08: Rest at Na Village for acclimatization and local hike.

A day at Na village for acclimatization will be worth staying to hike around the villages, explore various roughly made monasteries as well as great views of Mt. Chobutse 6689m raises above Tsho Rolpa Glacier Lake, Ramdung Peak and other snow-capped peaks. We highly recommend taking a rest day at Na Village to be familiar with the altitudes since we need to gain more altitude in the next few days.

Day 09: Trek to Kabuk at Tsho Rolpa Lake [4,560m/14956ft]

4-5 hrs Trek Tented Camp

After taking breakfast, we head towards Tsho Rolpa Glacier Lake; first, we cross the river and follow the south bank of the river. We gradually walk through moraines, often ice and snow-filled steps. This is also a short day walk, if we took an acclimatization day at Beding we could reach at Tsho Rolpa in a single day walk, our safety and security concern about the possible mountain sickness, designed the itinerary with a very flexible schedule. Tsho Rolpa Lake, a glacier lake allows exploration of the surrounding places i.e. Omai Tsho and the Ripimo Shar valley to the north.

Day 10: Trek to Drolambu Glacier [4880m/16006ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Tented Camp

After breakfast, we start our journey firstly ascend towards the glacier. We recommend starting our day before heated by the matured sun lights since if we will be late, the snows will be melted and the wind blows also would be increased and makes our walk difficult. After crossing the glacier, we follow the trail towards the eastern corner right above from the glacier. Then we descend towards the southern edge of Trakarding Glacier. Again, we follow the ascending trail that leads to reaching Drolambu Glacier.

Day 11: Trek to Tashi Cape via Tashi Lapcha Pass [5,755m/18876ft]

6-7 hrs Trek Tented Camp

Today’s walk contains very crucial value since we need to cross the adventurous Tashi Lapcha Pass at 5755 meters. We start our journey early in the morning, we follow an ascending natural ramp that leads us to reach and cross the pass. Tashi Lapcha pass is a rocky and snow-covered adventurous ridge made up by beautiful snow-covered peaks in both sides. From there, we can have great views surrounding of mountains and peaks. After crossing the pass, we immediately start to descent around 100m to make a camp at Tashi Cape.

Day 12: Rest/Acclimatization day at Tashi Cape

We take a rest and altitude acclimatization day at Tashi Cape. It is essential to take an acclimatization day for ensuring the successful Parchamo Peak Climbing. We spend our day to be mentally and physically prepared, arranging the essential gears, practice and get instructions about the usages of equipment, hiking and walking around the surroundings.

Day 13: Summit Parchamo Peak [6187m/20300ft] and back to Ngole [5110m/16760ft]

9-10 hrs Climb Tented Camp

Today, we are going to attempt our climb towards Parchamo Peak. We start our climb early in the morning, flow the snow slope; we climb north-east over the rock and snow made walls of Tengi Ragi Tau. Instructions and the guidelines provided by our experienced climbing guide needs to be followed carefully. From the summit, we will be rewarded by splendid views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt, Kusum Kanguru and much other snow-capped peaks. After having the successful summit, we descend and head to reach Ngole.

Day 14: Trek from Ngole to Thyangbo Kharka [4320m/14169ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge

Today, we continue to trek towards a long descends towards Thengpo Kharka. En-route we can have great views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu and several other snow-covered mountains. Thyangbo Kharka has few tea houses and good camping sites.

Day 15: Trek from Thyangbo Kharka to Namche Bazaar [3450m/11316ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge

After breakfast, first, we follow a trail to reach Thame. After Thame, we follow the trail along Bhote Koshi River; descend gradually towards Punki Tenga, passing the several charming villages. It is an old trade route over the Nangpa La into Tibet. Today, we follow gentle ascend and descend walks, an easy walk after accomplish many hard walking in previous days, leads us to reach Sherpa capital – Namche Bazaar.

Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla [2,800m/9184ft]

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge

The last day of our trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. We descent passing through the dense forested area – a pleasant walk, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times. After a while, a final uphill climb of approximately about 45 minutes will bring us back to Lukla.

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

We will take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenic mountain flight after the wonderful achievement of Parchamo Peak summit.

Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu

Hotel/Resort

You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. We will have a final meal together in the evening.

1. How hard is it to get visa for Nepal?

You don't have to face any difficulties while applying for Visa. The easiest way to get a visa is to apply for Visa on Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport which you can get it approximately on 30 minutes.

2. Is there any age limit on climbing Parchamo Peak?

Nepal Government has formulated strict rules and regulations due to which people of under 18 are not allowed to climb any peaks and the issuance of the permit.

3. Which season is best for Parchamo Peak Expedition?

People can climb or trek throughout all the year in Nepal. But the best time for climbing and trekking would be March-May and September - November.

4. How long will the mountaineering journey will be?

Normally we have made the itinerary for Parchamo Peak Tour that finished in 19 days under which you would have enough time to get acclimatize and experience the majestic view of Himalayas as well as get the best trekking experience of your life.

5. Should I get mountain climbing training before beginning Parchamo Peak Tour?

It's better if you get training before beginning the journey which will boost up your confidence. Regardless, if you don't have the training, our experienced Sherpa Guides will provide you with the necessary climbing training's as well as teach you how to tackle the technical sections.

6. Do I get to charge my devices ?

There are solar panels installed in the trail which makes it easier for you to charge your devices. But due to weather condition, you would not be able to use those so it's better to carry your own devices like a power bank and spare batteries so that there wouldn't be any problem.

7. Do your company provide climbing insurance?

No, we don't provide climbing insurance for the climbers. You need to get personal insurance through companies that provide insurance services. If you want we can suggest some companies which you can visit by clicking the link here.

8. Is it compulsory to tip the climbing guide and porter?

In Nepali tradition after the successful summit of the peak climbing guides and porters generally expects tips but it is not compulsory to provide. As we do not have summit bonus for this peak, you can give around USD $200 to climbing guide and USD $100 to the porter.

9. How much weight does the flight allow?

As the aircraft flies in the Everest Region, it can not fly much higher and is of small size with the only capacity of 15-16 people. So you are allowed only 15 kilos per person on the aeroplanes.

If you want to carry more, you would have to use cargo service which costs you USD $2 per kilos.

10. Are the climbers experienced and certified?

Yes, all of our climbers are highly trained and experienced who have been working in the field of mountaineering for many years. 11. What will be the accommodation during the trip?

During the Parchamo Peak tour, you will be accommodated both on the lodge as well as tented camp. This tour lies in the remote part of Nepal and there are high chances of falling rocks from above the hill. Also, there will be a strong cold wind which will make our journey difficult for which we have to prepare well with warm clothes and equipment.

12. What will be the weather during the journey of Parchamo Peak?

During the trek, at day time the temperature will be around +10 degree Celsius while in the evening the temperature will be around -5 to - 8 degree Celsius.

At the time of climbing and camping, the temperature will be around -15 to - 25 degree Celsius. You have to be equipped with proper gear and equipment for this tour which you can visit here.

13. How difficult is Parchamo Peak Climbing?

Parchamo Peak is a technical and physically demanding peak which requires experienced mountaineer with previous climbing experience. Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition provides world-class climbing crew and guide (Sherpa) to make your journey worthwhile.
