Tharpu Chuli peak is also known as ‘Tent Peak‘. Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is one of the best trekking peaks in Nepal. It was first ascending by Jimmy Roberts in 1956. He gave the name of Tharpu Chuli as a ‘Tent Peak’. Tharpu Chuli situated in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary. Its height is small hence, it is easy to climb for less experienced climbers. It is near to the Annapurna Base Camp so, you can enjoy the best trekking experience with Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing. From the summit of Tharpu Chuli 5500m, you can see the breathtaking panorama views of entire Himalaya of Annapurna region including the views of Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna V 7525m, Annapurna South 7219m, Gangapurna 7455m, Fang 7647m, Machepurchha(Fishtail) 6997m, Hiunchuli 6331m, and Singu Chuli 6501m. Low altitude and less technical section, Tharpu Chuli peak are perfect for beginner mountaineer climber.
Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks starts with a drive to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we move forward to Nayapul by a short drive. We begin to trek from here following the trails to the ethnic Gurung village community on the way, dense forest of Rhododendrons, Oaks and Pines towards Ghorepani. From Ghorepani Poonhill, we see the early sunrise view and also surrounded breathtaking Himalaya then we moved forward to Annapurna Base Camp. We further trek towards the High Camp. That day, we take a rest for acclimatization and preparation for climbing the summit. We check our equipment and health status of our climbers, to move towards the summit.
On the way, there are some technical sections which lead by our experienced Sherpa guide. We use ropes, crampons, ice axes during that time and also follow our experienced Sherpa guide. We ascend the all way to the Tharpu Chuli Peak. Once we reach the top of the Tharpu Chuli, you can see the magnificent views of Hiunchuli 6331m, Annapurna South 7219m, Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna V 7525m, Gangapurna 7455m, Machhapuchre (Fishtail) 6993m and Singu Chuli Peak 6501m. We return back to the Annapurna Base Camp after achieving the successful climb of Tharpu Chuli. Then, we descend back down to the Dhampus Phedi and take a drive to the Pokhara. Our unforgettable memory ends with Nepal Guide Treks reaching the successful summit of Tharpu Chuli. We drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

5 hrs Drive
Today we will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara along the scenic zigzag hilly roads over Prithvi Highway. Pokhara is a beautiful town set on the banks of the Fewa Lake. Pokhara is tourist's paradise full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu.

1.5 hrs Drive & 3-4 hrs Trek
We take another short drive from Pokhara to reach Nayapul - the starting point of our trek. From Nayapul we start our trek along the sub-tropical Modi Khola river valley towards Birethanti. At Birethanti we make a stop at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP)'s checkpoint. After completing the permit check process we continue our trek through terraced rice paddies towards Tikhedhunga.

5-6 hrs Trek
From here we follow the trail crossing a stream before climbing up a steep stone staircase towards the large Magar village at Ulleri 2070m. We continue our trek through rhododendron and oak filled forests passing through Nangethanti to reach Ghorepani.
We make an early morning hike up to Poonhill for enjoying the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna South 7219m, Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail)6997m, Tukuche Peak 6920m, Hiunchuli 6441m, and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Then, we continue our trail downhill through dense rhododendron filled forest towards Tadapani. On our route, we can see the variety of wild animals, birds with eye-catching waterfalls and sceneries along the way.
From Tadapani we descend through additional rhododendron and oak forest arriving at Chhomrung for a midday lunch. Chhomrung is a Gurung Village, and the highest permanent settlement in the valley with a tremendously vast view across to Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare. The day closes with an overnight stay in Chhomrung.
We ascend a long and steep stoned staircase through Chhomrung towards Kuldi. The trail continues through beautiful rhododendron forests and up to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, the trail leads up to Bamboo for the overnight stay. Along the route, we can have a glimpse of Langur Monkeys jumping from one tree to another.
From Bamboo, we will follow the route that goes steeply down along the bank of rocks and then levels out. We will continue on the trail that winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest, passing through the village of Doban and head towards Deurali for our overnight stay.
4-5 hrs Trek
From Deurali the valley widens and follow the trail that heads on to the lateral moraine and down the other side to the glacier. This leg of the journey takes us up to the bed of the glacier passing through Machhapuchre Base Camp with an up-close striking view of Machhapuchre Himal (Fish-Tail) before climbing up a gradual ascent of one hour and finally arriving at the Annapurna Base Camp 4130m.

Acclimatization is very essential to avoid mental and physical sickness at higher altitudes. Thus before heading further up to higher altitudes, we will take a day rest here at Annapurna Base Camp for acclimatization and exploration. Besides, we can enjoy the scenic mountain panorama of Annapurna I 8,091m, Annapurna South 7,219m, Gangapurna 7,455m and Annapurna III 7,555m from here.
5-6 hrs Trek
After spending a good acclimatization day at the Annapurna Base Camp, we start our day by crossing Annapurna glacier and then following the trail which ascends steep uphill towards Tent Peak Base Camp. Although the trail is rather difficult, we are rewarded with good views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail) and other surrounding peaks.

From Tent Peak Base Camp we continue to follow our trail that ascends uphill all the way to High Camp. The uphill journey can be tiring, so resting while walking can be done which helps to restore energy. We camp at High Camp for our overnight stay.
Before we continue further up to higher altitudes, we take a day rest here at Tent Peak High Camp for acclimatization. In order to achieve the summit, we must be fit both physically and mentally. So, today we prepare and make ourselves fit for summiting Tharpu Chuli Peak.
7-8 hrs Climb
Fully equipped and properly acclimatized, we start early with our aim of achieving the summit of Tharpu Chuli Peak. We will head towards the levelled glacier below the west flank of Tharpu Chuli and then cross the glacier to reach the foot of wall separating Tharpu Chuli and Singu Chuli. At this point, the snow condition will dictate the best routes. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts, we will climb onto a ridge that leads to the summit. Once at the top we are rewarded with a panoramic view of Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna V, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail) and Singu Chuli or Fluted Peak. After spending quality time at the top, we will quickly descend to reach the high camp.
6-7 hrs Trek
After the successful climbing of Tharpu Chuli Peak, our return journey from the High Camp will head back following the same trail to reach back to Annapurna Base Camp as for our overnight stay.
Today we will get up early for enjoying the magnificent sunrise view over the Annapurna mountain ranges before retracing our trail back passing through MBC, Deurali, and Dovan. We will descend through dense forests with several ups and downs trekking and good views of surrounding mountains to reach Bamboo.

Leaving Bamboo we will make a climb for a while to reach Kuldi Ghar and further towards Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, it is a gradual descent all the way down to Chhomrung Khola. After crossing the river over the suspension bridge we will climb a long stone staircase to reach Upper Chhomrung. Once at the top, we will follow the trail that descends all the way down to Jhinudanda. At Jhinudanda, you can relax and wash away your trekking tiredness at a natural Hot Water Spring which is situated 20 minutes downhill walk beside the bank of Modi Khola.
5-6 hrs Trek
From Jhinudanda we follow our trail by descending and then appearing through the flat line to reach Himal Pani. From here the trail ascends gently crossing several streams and terraces towards Landruk - a big village inhabited by Gurung, Magar, and Brahmins. After a few hours of uphill and downhill walk, we reach the Gurung village of Pothana.
4-5 hrs Trek
Our trail from Pothana descends gradually for at least an hour and follows the gravel road for two more hours. Then the trail steeply descends to Phedi passing through paddy fields and forest protected by the local community before reaching Dhampus Phedi where our trekking ends technically. From here we take a drive back to Pokhara.

It takes approximately four to five hours drive to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara. We drive along Prithvi Highway which offers scenic hilly zigzag roads through the banks of Trishuli River. At the evening feel free to join our farewell dinner program.

Usually, we provide one porter for one client.

Tharpu Chuli is one of the trekking peaks which is classified by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) of Nepal. Tharpu Chuli located inside Annapurna Himalayan range and also known as "Tent Peak". It is easy to climbing peak without require experience of peak climbing. Tharpu Chuli can make as training peak for high altitude mountains. Tent Peak climbing needs warm winter clothing including some gears for ice climbing such as ice axes, crampons, 100 meters rope etc.
