Island Peak, which is locally known as ‘Imja Tse,’ is one of the most remarkable peaks in the eastern Himalayan region. Standing at the elevation of 6,189m (20,305ft), this aesthetic peak, which seems like an island in the sea of snow, is an extension of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar. Due to its exceptional beauty, thrilling semi-technical slopes, and remarkable views from the top of the Island Peak climbing is one of the most exhilarating climbing prospects in the Everest region.

Widely popular among the other trekking peaks in Nepal, Island Peak actually shares a great history with the biggest leap that mankind made in the mountaineering world. This trekking peak was used as a practice ground by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay for the oxygen apparatus before they successfully scaled Mount Everest on 29th May 1953.

Due to the exciting aspects of this journey in the core of the Eastern Himalayas, such as incredible vistas, cultural experience, semi-technical thrills, and a complete Himalayan peak climbing experience, Island Peak Climbing in Nepal has gained mass popularity among climbers.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a mountaineering beginner trying to sharpen your skills, a veteran climber who is looking for a distinctive thrill, or just an explorer who wants to tick off that Himalayan peak climbing box from your to-do list, Island Peak Trek is an ideal expedition that perfectly sums up a scaling adventure in the Himalayas.
